Our plan
The Creative World was founded in 2007 by Rik Konings after a humanitarian clown's tour in Tanzania. His experience was that there was too little space left for the playfulness of the child within the walls of the school, and this touched him a lot. Out of the positive energy emerging from this trip, the idea grew to structurally develop a creative program especially for these kids. This contributes to the idea that learning can also be fun. During this trip, the group made more than 1,000 children a creative offer of play, singing and dance in orphanages, children’s hospitals and street projects.
What we did
The Creative World Foundation is an organization that makes it possible for children all over the world to discover their talents with the help of creative programs, materials and education. In this way, the children will get more self-confidence and learn to think in a more creative way. This will give them new chances to shape their own future. The Creative World consists of an international team of creative professionals, who go to work as volunteers for three weeks. They provide train-the-trainer workshops for teachers and companions of orphanages and schools all over the world. These trainers originate from all kinds of disciplines, such as dance, music, drama, plastic arts and (circus) theatre.
Our results
As a result of the 2008 Tour, Rik made it to the Arusha/Moshi area in 2008. Teachers got enthousiastic, children gained more self confidence and the people of the schools embraced the philosophy of sharing creative knowledge and experience within and for the community.
