Our plan
As the former director of science for the Hawaii DOE and the NYC DOE, I realized that our students were not getting engaged in their learning. The program allows for students to create their own destiny by giving them skills in digital media, focusing on Mathematics and Science concepts and skills.
What we did
We implemented a digital media program with community partners. Students learn to program, design and re-teach concepts around STEM skills. Funding was provided by community support.
Our results
We have 250+ students that are creating digital media content around STEM skills. Students pick a math or science concept and then have it come to a reality using MIT open source tools and digital media students from the community.
