Dade Partners

Our plan

Dade Partners' plan was to create a network of partnerships within the community to aid the county’s school system. Dade Partners was designed to facilitate the involvement of the private and public sectors with the school system and through this involvement lead to a better understanding of the needs of both the educational system and the community. Since its inception in 1978, Dade Partners has grown to more than 2,500 entities that have formed over 3,000 partnerships between their organization and our schools. Together these partners continue to share their expertise and provide our schools a multitude of resources.

What we did

Partners do various things depending upon the amount and type of involvement they choose. In the past, one group has donated books and sent out mailings to inform parents of students about important information. Some offer tutoring and mentorship programs while others provide internships and “on the job” training -- just to give an idea of how diversely the partnerships benefit the schools.

Our results

Students benefit from the wide array of opportunities that such a large network of community partners is able to provide, often gaining valuable career preparation through internships in different fields throughout the community.
